How bad can it get?

Oh it's been awhile. I really got tired of the election, and then was stunned by the BS put out by our new president and his lapdog Congress, but I'm sick of it!

Nancy Pelosi (Obama's main mouthpiece) went home to her lovely whacko city of San Francisco and huddled up with a bunch of "illegal immigrants" and other Hispanics. Pelosi railed against ICE for deporting illegals. She said THEY (illegals) stood for patriotism! Pelosi ran down policies and laws on the books for immigration. Why do we let this go on?!?

She is Speaker of the House (and 3rd in line to the Presidency), and here she is calling on law enforcement to STOP enforcing laws! Pelosi evidently loves illegals more than Americans. We as a country have sunk to a stunningly low level. No one reigns her in, wonder why? Obama uses her as a mouthpiece.

I pay my mortgage. My home is almost paid for. And now I (and you) have to bail out those who took loans THEY KNEW they couldn't afford. When I got pre approved for my home loan, I laughed at what the mortgage company said I could afford. I knew I couldn't, so I bought a home I knew I could afford. Many others didn't, AND SHOULD LOSE THE HOME!

WHAT HAPPENED? When did it become a right to own a home? I rented apartments for years until I could afford a loan. I guess I had it so wrong. I guess I should have put my hand out and cried for the government to GIVE me a house. AIG and banks are in trouble? LET THEM GO UNDER. They made the bad loans to people they KNEW couldn't pay them. Some are screaming to put them in jail, NO. Take their jobs away from them and send them to the same government for help they sentenced so many others too.

I know there are others as mad as I am about this junk. DO SOMETHING! If we sit back and let this happen without a voice, we will wake up one morning in a socialist society like FRANCE. Write you congressman and senator. Email them. CALL them. Let them know we are MAD!

This is just the start too. They aren't going to raise taxes on anyone making over 250 grand, but they are going to tax the daylights out of cigarettes and tobacco. If they make it too expensive you'll quit, or so they think. It's just a tax on poor people. And by poor, I mean by their standard. Where will that stop? Congress just passed today a bill to tax bonuses given by companies who got bailout money. Hey, I didn't think it was a good idea either but do you realize what happened today? Your government, our supposed employees, selectively taxed one small group of people. They targeted Americans they didn't like and took their money away from them. What's to stop them now from targeting ANY group of people they don't like and taking everything away from them. It's getting scary.

And we are BLINDLY letting this all happen. What happened America? Why are we letting an elite group of ELECTED officials run us into the ground? Why are we sitting back and letting the government WE elect tell us what to do? Lets see, we wanted the borders strengthened and a fence built. NOTHING. We wanted employer checks to make sure illegals didn't take American jobs. Pelosi stands up and calls that un American and nothing is done. And we just sit back and let these idiots keep their jobs.

Recall them all! Start a recall drive on every Representative and Senator in Congress. Clean them all out! Start over and put in a 2 term limit. That's what we do to the President, it'll do for Congress too. Rattle their cage and show them who the REAL boss of the country is...THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. We face dark times my friends, we must stay the course and STAND UP and be counted. Let them know how we feel.

OK it's time.

I have had it with people who point fingers when they are confronted with a problem. Mostly it's the politicians I'm really steamed with, but it seems these days everything that happens is someone else's fault. I was raised by parents that demanded you take responsibility for your actions. I raised my sons that way too. I've been married for over 20 years to a great woman that I still love now as much as I did when we married. I go to church. I don't think I'm alone out there in the wasteland frustrated about the "politically correct" responses that define our everyday life now. It just seems that way to me sometimes. So here it is, I started a blog. Me, the guy that lives out in the country and has dirt under his fingernails.

Oil. I'm sick of hearing about it. It's China, it's big oil companies, it's speculators, it's ecology freaks, or pick the flavor of the week to blame prices on. Supply and demand? OK, I understand that because my brother teaches Finance and is married to an economist. But realistically, record profits by big oil last year on top of the record profits the year before are a little hard to swallow. How about calling it what it is...Greed. But hey, they're a business, right? Think about that the next time you fill up and dish out a C note. Wall Street speculators? Yeah, I rank them right up there with the big oil people. Greed. Don't go to Congress and give us all the hocus pocus of how hard it is for you to make billions in profit. Just tell us it's a business. We want all your money, and we figured out you HAVE to fill up your tank to go to work!

And politicians. Oh how I'm coming to hate anyone I ever voted for. Evidently America does too. The latest poll shows only 18% think they're doing a good job. And half of those probably lied or were drunk when asked. Something happens to well meaning people when they get inside the beltway in Washington. They become spineless, greedy idiots. How many earmarks or pork barrel projects can I get? How about for once saying we need to do something for the country? It may not be your state or district, but if it's good for the nation agree with it! I'm off of Democrats AND Republicans (I'm a Republican) and the petty bickering that goes on. I live in northeast Louisiana, not San Francisco or New York or even New Orleans (I escaped!). I have what I consider normal mid American values and beliefs. And it drives me NUTS when I hear ideas shot down because the President or the opposing party had the idea. They always have a better idea. Like the drilling offshore moratorium that was lifted by Bush. The Democrats are against it. Drill on your leases you have now! The oil won't be available for 10 years! Well heck. Clinton was asked to do what Bush did and he used the 10 year thing too. Guess what? That was 10 years ago! Think gas is expensive now? Wait 10 years and see how much it costs to fill up. It's OK for Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas to drill offshore, but not in my back yard! GROW UP! The country needs it.

Somebody needs to step up and tell these politicians to get off their collective butts and quit fighting and get to working. Punch holes in the ground and start getting the oil out. Tell the tree huggers to get some more granola and be glad they can run their air conditioning. And never, ever suggest to me I need a "carbon credit." If you need those, come see me. I'll sell you a ton of them...along with a bridge or two.
